What is your Goal in Life?

What is your Goal in Life?

And does or would a belief in a benevolent God change your goal?

This is a corollary to my post, The God Rule.

If you believe that you are in the “game” of life all by yourself, and potentially all for yourself, and all about yourself - what is or would be the goal of your life?  It would have to be all about you.  And what does that leave you with when you leave life?  And you leave life for a lot longer of period of time than you are in it (you are dead longer than you are alive).

A belief in a benevolent God provides you with a sense of purpose and meaning beyond yourself.  As part of a group of humans, a larger community of God’s creatures and creations.  It puts others in your life’s calculations.

It allows you to serve others instead of only yourself.

It provides you with the capacity to do greater good, create greater value, and in turn perhaps be the beneficiary of others desires to do the same.

There is only upside to operating like this.

Wishes for a great day to all,

Each one a gift,

David/

Return to Your Babyhood Remember the good old days when you were a baby? When you never gave up, regardless of how many times you failed. What happened to those good old days? When you were learning how to walk, you fell down each and every time. On average 17 times per hour. Hundreds if not thousands of times. And what did you do? You got back up. Each and every time. No questions asked. Never taking failure as your final answer. And then, you succeeded. You never doubted yourself. You never overthought things. You never got in your way. If you are now doing these things, preventing yourself from succeeding, getting in your own way, doubting yourself, overthinking things, stop. You can do it. You have done it before. When you had far less capabilities and knowledge and support. Wishes for another great day, each one a gift, David/
