My father forever denied saying this to me, so I will defer to him as always.  But, I thought he said to me once way back long ago,”Berman, there are sharper tacks than you in the draw”.  And, it was either way, said with loving kindness.

The point is simple.

There is somebody somewhere better than you in everything that you are and do.  The odds are over one in a billion that that is an accurate statement.

So.

Don’t focus on being the best at something or everything, set your sights on being the best you.  Trust me, if you accomplish that then the odds greatly increase on you being better than all the rest. 

Be the best you with love and loving kindness and humility and a sense of deep appreciation for the gift that each day brings you and that you can bring others.
