In an earlier post, we spoke about the importance of using the best wine glass you can.
Also important is the temperature at which you consume your wine.
Try this experiment.
Take one bottle of wine, and a white wine would be best for this. Any white wine such as a Chardonnay, or a dessert wine such as a Sauterne or a Moscato d’ Asti.
Use two similar glasses and pour the same amount of wine into each one.
Place one in the refrigerator and leave the other one out on the counter (safe from potential poachers).
Every 15 minutes take a sip from each glass and write down your “findings”.
Your findings could include:
- 1. Visual appearance
- 2. How it smells when you swirl it in the glass
- 3. How it tastes
- 4. How long that taste lasts on your palate.
If you can, measure the temperature in both glasses two with an instant read thermometer.
If you are up for it, try it with a red wine such as a Cabernet Sauvignon or a Zinfandel.
Wishes for a great day to all,
Hugs too,
David/
