Functional Information = Intelligent Agent

Functional Information is something that provides you with practical or useful or helpful or valuable information.

Examples are a traffic sign, computer programming, a recipe, a dictionary, a fuel gauge, the alphabet.

Functional information Always requires the effort of intelligent design. It does not happen by accident. It requires the effort of a “mind” or “agent”.

For example, let’s say we remove any evidence of human existence on planet Earth and all that is left are computers. That a million years after human existence was erased, an alien life form lands on Planet Earth and discovers even one computer, or even the elements of decomposed computers such as transistors. What would they conclude? Would they think that the computers were created, self-assembled from the soil or water or air? That they evolved from the basic elements of the planet? Obviously not.

Functional information is Always the product of intelligent design.

“DNA is like a computer program but far, far more advanced than any software ever created”.

- Bill Gates, The Road Ahead.

Q? What is the origin of our DNA?

Wishes for a great day, each one a gift,

Hugs too,

David/

Return to Your Babyhood Remember the good old days when you were a baby? When you never gave up, regardless of how many times you failed. What happened to those good old days? When you were learning how to walk, you fell down each and every time. On average 17 times per hour. Hundreds if not thousands of times. And what did you do? You got back up. Each and every time. No questions asked. Never taking failure as your final answer. And then, you succeeded. You never doubted yourself. You never overthought things. You never got in your way. If you are now doing these things, preventing yourself from succeeding, getting in your own way, doubting yourself, overthinking things, stop. You can do it. You have done it before. When you had far less capabilities and knowledge and support. Wishes for another great day, each one a gift, David/

Failure or Revelation? You never fail at anything, and that is the truth. What you are doing is revealing to yourself an area of improvement. It is important to realize this, because if you are not failing at something, you are not challenging yourself adequately. And if you are not challenging yourself, how do you make yourself a better person tomorrow than you are today? So please, fail at something often. Be a better person each and every day, because, Each day is a gift, David/
